HE blessed me with a special gift which gave me a life-long passion to explore and learn. My parents were my role models and the fuel of my burning passion. My Dad would always say to me, “when you make a mistake, learn from it” and my Mom would always say to me, “you can learn something new every day”.

Back when I was in elementary school, fourth grade, is when I started working on developing my drawing skills. I was reading a book about drawing styles that I checked out of the public library and I came across a new word. That word was technique. I immediately stopped reading and looked it up in the dictionary. After reading the syllabus breakdown, all the definitions, examples of being used in sentences, and synonyms, little did I know I was having my second epiphany.
Every time I finished drawing something, I would show it to my parents first and ask them what do they think about my drawing. I did not want to hear them say “it’s good or it’s nice”, I wanted to know their thoughts, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I wanted an honest unbiased critique. My Dad was the reason why I went to the library to look for books about drawing styles. A couple of days before going to the library, I showed him a drawing that I had just finished and after he gave me his critique, he said to me “every man-made thing that you see, someone had to draw it first before it can be made”. Again, little did I know, that is when I had my first epiphany and I have been working on developing and improving my skills ever since that moment.
